Self-sabotage and the hidden benefits

Every December, usually after Boxing Day and just before the start of the New Year, many people start setting their goals, intentions, and what they want to achieve or attract in the following year.

Fears/Phobias

Are you in a situation where you are putting up with physical pain and discomfort that could be rectified by medical intervention but you are too scared to do anything about it?

You are not alone. There are so many people out there who need medical attention such as dentistry, but because they had a bad experience in the past, they have decided there is no way they are returning for more of the same.

That makes perfect sense to me. I mean, why would you go back to anything that makes you anxious just to think about it, let alone put yourself back there.

I remember being in this exact predicament a few years back. I had terrible pain in one of my teeth and knew I needed dental help. Unfortunately, my last visit to the dentist was quite a traumatic experience. At that visit, part of my tooth had broken off and they had to basically dig out the remainder of my tooth left behind which caused considerable pain.

I knew that I needed to change my feelings and beliefs about that previous dental appointment so I could seek the medical help I desperately needed.

I used my skills as a Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner to release the energy, emotions, and beliefs that I had from that previous dental appointment. After I had addressed the trauma and associated feelings, I then imprinted and visualised how I wanted my next dentist appointment to play out. I made an appointment with my dentist the following day.

I was curious to see how I would feel when I got into the dentist’s chair. I felt fairly calm but was still expecting my anxiety levels to rise once the examination began. But that just didn’t happen. I had another tooth removed on this day and the time seemed to pass quite quickly. I even commented to the dentist “Is that it, are you finished?” Yes, indeed she was.

I had numerous dental checkups since that appointment and I haven’t once felt scared.

I understand that sometimes we don’t want to release fears or phobias.  We feel that holding onto those feelings will keep us safe from the very thing we are frightened of. But if holding onto that fear is detrimental to your health, then surely it’s time to seek help and empower yourself to change and change your mindset.
